Seven tone Pentatonic glockenspiel
Made in Sweden by a community for adults with special needs
The pentatonic tuning is a basic musical phenomena. It consists of large second- and small third-interval steps. This scale enables the mixing of tones in any thinkable combination – yet it always plays heavenly, harmonic melodies. Pentatonic music is one of the most powerful tools to guide a child into the world of music.
It is made of a special brass alloy to make the tone crystal clear and celestial. Ideal introduction to creating music and note recognition. The frame is made from European maple.
The Pentatonic scale consists of five notes (D,E,G,A,B) and makes any succession of notes harmonious. These instruments are finely crafted in a small workshop in Sweden. The most significant and fundamental goal is to achieve harmony between what the ear hears, the hand feels and the eye sees. This is very important, especially for a growing child. To have true acoustic stimulation of the senses musically, will harmonise and strengthen the whole human being.
The appropriate age to pass such an instrument to the child to play all by itself would be from 3 years and up. Before this the curved glockenspiels shall be played by the adult for children or together with them.
