Rush Mat - Round
Made in England
Rushes harvested from the Great Ouse river are softer, slimmer and vivid in colour than rushes grown elsewhere. Since the rush beds grow back within two years, sourcing of the material is sustainable.
During the drying process the weight of the rush is reduced to a fifth. The variation in weather during this process naturally produces beautiful shades of colour. Prolonged sun gently bleaches to warm honey tones. During windy weather the colours have a more vivid green/blue hue. There are no chemicals used in any part of the process. It is entirely natural.
Because these items are individually made colours may vary slightly and supplies may fluctuate.
