"Patatero" Knife: Boxwood
Hand Made in Galicia, Spain
Distributed by the cultural organisation in Galicia whose mission is to spread the word about the region's craftspeople. These knives are made by local cutlery maker Celso Núñez Ferreiro, who forges stainless steel and various woods into primitive yet beautiful cutlery and carving utensils.
As the name suggests, these knives are normally used to peel potatoes. However, these are also good for cutting cheese, dry meat and other vegetables.
